Is there anyone who is prone to fatty liver?

Are there people who are prone to fatty liver?

Fat is a very good energy store that allows a person to respond to changes in energy requirements. It can be stored and stored in cells in large amounts without affecting the cells, while providing higher calories than carbohydrates or proteins. Fat is usually stored in fat cells, but in special cases, it can also be stored in hepatocytes.

Fatty liver refers to an abnormally large accumulation of fat in the liver. A normal person is usually less than 5%, and when more than 5% fat is observed in the liver, it is defined as fatty liver. Depending on the cause of fatty liver, it is divided into cases in which a triggering factor is identified and a case in which a triggering factor is not identified. Alcoholic fatty liver is one of the most common causes of fatty liver. Non-alcoholic fatty liver is also defined as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease when fatty liver occurs despite not consuming alcohol and other genetic or physical diseases known to cause fatty liver or drug use. It is often limited to cases where there is no cause.

Fat is usually stored in the form of triglycerides in hepatocytes, and the balance between the amount of triglycerides entering and leaving the liver is disrupted. Although triglycerides are ingested through food, etc., sugar is also synthesized and stored in the liver as triglycerides. Various enzymes and proteins are involved in the process of triglyceride accumulation in the liver, and it is known that various genes are involved in this process. Therefore, it is known that people with certain genetic predispositions are more likely to develop fatty liver in the same environment.
